Minimum System Requirements
FFXIV for Mac I'm using Bootcamp with my Retina MBP at the moment (runs great with standard settings) and know there are other ways to run it such as with Wine or Parallels but would much rather prefer something supported. Double-click the file (FINALFANTASYXIVONLINEx64.dmg) once the download is complete. Follow the on-screen instructions and drag the FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE icon into the Applications folder. FINAL FANTASY XIV will then be installed in the Applications folder, and the launcher icon will appear on the desktop. I just bought a 2020 MacBook Pro 13' and am having trouble launching FFXIV. When I click 'play' the screen goes to black and nothing loads. I've heard conflicting reports about if the game even runs on Catalina, but am hopeful since I just dropped 20$ on this game. Installation
- Click the 'Download' button to begin.

To carry over settings from the 32-bit application, you need to upload your settings using the Server Backup option, which can be found in the character selection screen.

Save a backup of local character settings, HUD layout, hotbars, gear sets, and more to the server.
* Item sort settings and inventory location data will not be saved.

Affected Users
Users who are playing the Mac version of FINAL FANTASY XIV and receive a dialog prompt upon launching the client that requests for FINAL FANTASY XIV to be reinstalled.
Uninstallation and Reinstallation
1. After selecting “FINAL FANTASY XIV” from the Applications directory, move it to Trash and uninstall.
* Hotbars, macros, and other settings can be found in the “~/Library/Application Support” directory, so please take care not to delete this.
These settings, along with other data saved on the client-side, will carry over once the game is reinstalled.
2. Download the .dmg file from the following URL.

3. Run the downloaded .dmg file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the client.
* There may be instances wherein the install will not be completed properly when using Mac OS X 10.10.4 and 10.10.5 due to an OS bug.
Please update to the latest version of Mac OS if this issue occurs.
4. After the installation has completed, run the application. Once installed and updated,
select “About FINAL FANTASY XIV” from the upper menu and confirm that the version is “v1.0.010863.”
Update Details
Reinstalling the client will address the following:
・ An issue wherein performance improvements were not being properly applied.
・ An issue related to system updates.
・ An issue wherein the top portion of the window would appear off-screen when using Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
・ An issue wherein the in-game Support Desk feature could not be used.
・ Multiple issues related to Japanese input.
・ Adds support for Google Japanese input while in windowed mode.
